Hercillia’s a brat who learned nothing from her experience as a pair of shoes! She presumes that Warrick is still smitten with Ozma. I’ll bet this is no longer true. You would think that Hercillia would have learned more about what was going on being in such close proximity with Emma but she never seemed to learn her real name. Still she’s a beauty. Great braid!
Err… Huh? O_o If Emma’s sudden memory loss isn’t puzzling enough, the others’ reaction certainly is. What’s going on here…? There has to be some huge twist around the corner…
I don’t know… One of Warrick’s few remaining relatives/friends of the family/whatyoucallit just died, but he displays no emotion when the subject is mentioned. Then again, he didn’t do much during the death scene itself either…
I’m guessing Hercilia was turned into a pair of shoes because of the way she walks all over other people…
And Emma remembers that Scarecrow was hurt, but not that he died in her arms? That’s disturbing… but she was out for three days, so it’s also not too surprising.
Well technically, The Scarecrow can’t “Die”, since he was never alive…he’s been repaired from worse damage before…unless the black goop monster did something unusual to his parts that prevents him from being fixed.
(Dang, my Other comment is stuck in Moderation limbo…I can’t resist the occasional YouTube link…heh)
Warrick’s expression in panel 8 is perfect. It does look like we may finally find out what is happening in Oz, Renge should have some useful information for them, even if its not complete it should help. And I want to see her and Anlise’s relationship develop, it’s got to be hard on them both with what Renge felt she *had* to do to Anlise. I really want to know why!
I’m going to guess Emma remembers it but was under the assumption he could be repaired. She is a little new around here, she doesn’t know all the rules yet (neither do we!).
I don’t know about Hercilia cutting in JUST to be annoying. What I got from her reaction of Emma’s sudden memory loss was that she might not want Emma to go through any more pain after being knocked out for so many days. Hercilia may be annoying, but she’s one of the only people who’ve know Emma since she arrived in Oz and I think it’s safe to say she actually cares about Emma’s well being. I mean, maybe the truth is blocked in Emma’s memory at the moment, but if she’ll remember when she remembers. Maybe there’s an actual plot-related reason why she can’t remember it.
Based on the dialog and reaction, I’d say Emma genuinely may not recall Scarecrow dying. He seems to be the only friend from her travels that is MIA so it makes sense she’d ask after him even if she doesn’t recall him being injured at all. Which is definitely upsetting, but deal with one thing at a time and I think Hercilia’s being smart about it to get business handled and possibly the STILL injured hero (remember Emma had Selva’s help just to walk from bed to this room) settled somewhere before breaking the bad news to her. Hell, if she’s going straight home, it might be kind (in it’s way) to not tell her at all and let her return to her life believing Scarecrow is more-or-less alright rather than letting her live in guilt and regret over something beyond her control. I don’t get where people are seeing Hercilia as an asshole here, she’s being smart about getting things done and trying not to stress Emma with too many burdens at once.
Maybe she didn’t think the scarecrow could die and that’s why she’s asking if he’s okay. I mean, really, I assume she knows the world via pop culture and therefore recognizes that Scarecrow is an inanimate object animated. Therefore, she may assume that he isn’t dead because he can’t die. Maybe she thinks that since he’s not there, he’s getting repaired. Therefore, she asks the question top on her head.
And really, if I had just woken up from a three day nap, I doubt I’d recognize the new person as the pair of shoes. I’m sure being a pair of shoes actually changed her voice a bit. Figuring Hercilia only had a pair of tongues. lol
I think Hericlia did learn to be a little more compassionate. She was probably trying, in her own pushy way, to be nice to Emma, the way people shield kids’ eyes during a bad scene in a movie.
Hey hey HEY! I DECLARE SCARECROW TO BE A REAL ISSUE, AFTER SUCH AN UPSETTING REACTION AS THAT. :<

I wonder if Warrick is happy about Emma’s plans.
I guess they couldn’t restore the scarecrow?
Emma, there is a hole in your mind.
Who do you think you are, Kosh?
We are all Kosh.
I thought that was the Minbari assassin who said that…did Kosh repeat it later?
Oh man, I swear I can HEAR Hercilia’s annoying voice from that fourth-to-last panel.
Err… Huh? O_o If Emma’s sudden memory loss isn’t puzzling enough, the others’ reaction certainly is. What’s going on here…? There has to be some huge twist around the corner…
Actually, I think everyone’s reactions is pretty normal… Hercilia probably just doesn’t want to get sidetracked with emotional scenes (again?).
That does still leave Emma’s weird memory gap.
I don’t know… One of Warrick’s few remaining relatives/friends of the family/whatyoucallit just died, but he displays no emotion when the subject is mentioned. Then again, he didn’t do much during the death scene itself either…
That might be a side effect of the whole “lacking a heart” thing.
I’m guessing Hercilia was turned into a pair of shoes because of the way she walks all over other people…

HA! (to the first part)
Irresistable mental image…Herculia singing “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’” – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRkovnss7sg

El oh el. I love Hercilia.
THE SCARECROW IS THE REAL ISSUE HERE.
Emma is so pretty in the fourth panel! But Hercilia is slightly freaking me out.

Emma, “where is your mind”? :3 I couldn’t help quoting “Sucker Punch”.
