Title says “Meanwhile out in the west…” My guess is that we only saw a few parts of Oz in the movie. This is a fictional, new creation that is owned by Warrick.
I usually read Dorothy with a Southern accent modified with a slight Midwest twang. The Wizard I read with an English accent rather like Jon Pertwee (the Third Doctor).
Wait…. Is this the lady who takes over the Emerald City with her army of girls with knitting needles in order to turn all the emeralds into jewellery?!
They had a musket or two, but you also need someone willing to USE the weapon. Ugu the Shoemaker wouldn’t have hesitated a minute, but he didn’t care about whether you were a boy or girl.
I’ll note that THIS version of Oz I’d be concerned with leading a revolution when I don’t have a witch on my side. News of Selva’s exit can’t have gotten far yet, and White Witch doesn’t seem like someone I wanna cross either. Knitting needles might work on fat and unarmed guards, but not against someone who can turn you into a Gucci bag.
She is simultaneously idiotic, badass, a symbol of feminism, and total SexRoleFAIL in one package, especially today. Remember that Baum started writing these at the end of the 1800s – beginning of the 1900s; Jinjur would never pass muster in any book written today for SO many reasons. Yet she was a pretty interesting character for Oz.
Yes, but she eventually goes back to being a fairly “good” woman. As my mom was never intimidated by anything living (when she was first dating my father, she accompanied him into Knox Cave and helped him band bats) the bit with the mice always made me twitch, too.
I suspect it’s going to get messier by and by. Possibly, depending on how devious people like White Witchy, Warrick, and possibly even Alice are, a Thirty Xanatos Pileup.
it’s hilarious that i actually read the marvel version of the Wizard of Oz. and the second series to boot! Jinjur is, as usual, incredibly annoying, hilarious, fail and yet, Kick-ass! XD. is that even possible!?!
I am more confused than normal
Whoops! I apologize. The next page should clarify things pretty well.
Well, it’s not hard to confuse me…;) Looking forward to it!

Warrick is indeed, nearby.
Yeah, you get to see a whole lot more of Oz in the books, especially in the second one. It’s like a travel guide to Oz in a way.
I join Kitesareevil in being utterly confused… O_o
Next page should help. I’m sorry if the narrative for this one seems a bit wacky.
No need to be sorry. Being confused is just a state of mind; it’s not necessarily bad, especially in smaller doses.
Is that… Jinjur?
I love how their uniforms reflect the flag of Oz (essentially).
Correct guess.
OMG, is that General Jinjur?
She who led the dorkiest revolution in history and still at times managed to be awesome?
Well, she is still a general. That’s automatic cool points.
Yeah, Jinjur literally barged her way into the comic. She has a habit of doing that. ^_^
That would pretty much fit her to a T.
I read my son “The Ozma of Oz” a couple of months ago. WOW!! (I gave her a southern accent, even though she was not from southern Oz)
I usually read Dorothy with a Southern accent modified with a slight Midwest twang. The Wizard I read with an English accent rather like Jon Pertwee (the Third Doctor).
I’m glad both you and your son enjoyed it!
Wait…. Is this the lady who takes over the Emerald City with her army of girls with knitting needles in order to turn all the emeralds into jewellery?!
And again I say…. KNITTING NEEDLES.
Yup, it’s them.
Needles are a rpetty efficient weapon if your enemies have say… NONE at all.
They had a musket or two, but you also need someone willing to USE the weapon. Ugu the Shoemaker wouldn’t have hesitated a minute, but he didn’t care about whether you were a boy or girl.

Clearly I need to actually read the original Oz books. O_o
Jinjur sounds freaking bad ass.
She is simultaneously idiotic, badass, a symbol of feminism, and total SexRoleFAIL in one package, especially today. I always liked her because she went from being a cowardly girly annoyance to being the world’s greatest badass chick.
Her poor husband
Yes, but she eventually goes back to being a fairly “good” woman. As my mom was never intimidated by anything living (when she was first dating my father, she accompanied him into Knox Cave and helped him band bats) the bit with the mice always made me twitch, too.
This is going to turn into a big mess, isn’t it?
I suspect it’s going to get messier by and by. Possibly, depending on how devious people like White Witchy, Warrick, and possibly even Alice are, a Thirty Xanatos Pileup.
Very possible.
That girl reminds me of Azula from Avatar in Earth Kingdom garb
I’M SO NERDY IM SORRY GUYS
I was thinking more like Ju-dee from the Ba Sing Se episodes of Avatar but…
There’s no war in Ba Sing Se.
There’s no war in Ba Sing Se.
There’s no war in Ba Sing Se.
I adore the Ju-dees. >:)
And the plot thickens!
It’s slowly turning into molasse!

I’ve never heard of this character, but megalomaniacs in silly outfits are a good way to my heart
Mine too.
Handmaid, is that you? How did you escape Lord English’s diabolical plans?
…and why do I find your hairstyle so sexy?
Hats off to you my friend for doing your research. I am so happy to see that you’ve included general jinjur.
