You guys! The Namesake Kickstarter hit more than $10,000! This is just amazing! And there’s still 13 days left in the campaign if you haven’t pre-ordered book 1 yet. This is beyond fantastic, and we’re extremely excited.
What are our plans now? Keep raising funds through the Kickstarter! Whatever doesn’t go to books, shipping, prizes and taxes will now go toward paying our way to the Toronto Comic Arts Festival May 5 and 6. Isa and I will both be there, so if you’re in the Toronto area, come see us! TCAF is absolutely free, and it’s a great way to support the arts. If you have pre-ordered through Kickstarter, let us know so we can hand your book to you in person!

Hercilia is gaining in awesomeness. And Anlise’s memory lapse makes one wonder just how long she was under Renge’s influence…
Hercilia and fire can clearly solve all problems.
This page made Hercilia my favorite character. She’s just so charming!
Oh dear. Judging from what Anlise is saying, she has been under Renge spell for quite a long time considering that last thing she remembered was a Dorothy death.
Well, I do have to agree with Hercillia about fire. Most times, the best way to defeat an enemy, like zombies or bad guys, is to ‘KILL WITH FIRE’. Unless, the enemy is resistant against fire…Though, KILL IT WITH FIRE is best way to solve most problems…And fun too 8D
Isn’t nuking from orbit is the way to do it? We can even have the nuke start fires for you pyros.
Her brain was eaten by mind-controlling poppies; some memory loss is expected in this situation.
Or was there an older spell before Renge’s poppies?
I think Renge took power after the disparition of Ozma, and the last Dorothy’s death was before Ozma’s disappearance.
Or the memory loss cleans parts of her memories beyond the duration of the spell?
Technically, a year after could still be considered “just”, especially when considering that the girl in front of you is in her twenties.
I’m totally in for this “fire” thing.
ah, fire…is there no problem you can’t solve?
The only thing that comes to mind would be a fire elemental problem.
I watched Bastard. If you’re good enough with fire, you can even use it to solve Fire Elemental problems. >:3
I see the same thought occurred to us both.
Dark Schnieder would beg to disagree.
Emma, you are such a Dorothy. Wanting to get back to your family and all.
FIRE FIRE ON THEM!
sorry. I like Hercilia. I especially like her problem solving skills.
XD Hercilia, I love you. Please marry me.
I can see Hercilia’s inspiration bleeding through a little. Destruction will sort it all right out.
Actually, water would work better with Warrick. You ever want to make sure he behaves, threaten him with a squirt gun. =^-^=
Still, Hercilia’s fascination with fire is quite amusing. ^^
Considering Warrick has a travel orb (or whatever that thing is), I have a strong feeling the confrontation of Renge will not go well (and the orb will be used to whisk Warrick and Emma to safety)…
So, no Super Soaker battles for Warrick.
OMG I love the expressions in panel 8!
My purse is a witch and my shoes are a pyromaniac.
Must be Thursday.
“…my shoes are a pyromaniac.”: something to set off the grammar fanatics. Best of all, it is true.
I think the correct wording would be “my shoes is a pyromaniac” because the shoes is one.
(seems like I run into a lot of odd grammar when I write stuff… I think it usually depends on the way it’s meant, not the way it’s written)
I beg to differ. “My shoes are…” is the proper way to start, and then, to complete the equation, “a pyromaniac” fits nicely. It’s very apparent to me that Rina had it right. (Of course, I found this a little belatedly.)
Well, you refer to shoes as a plural (“My shoes are red”), but the shoes together make up Hercilia, so the plural shoes are a singular pyromaniac. /probablyfaultyreasoning
Now I want shoes that can summon fire. Men’s shoes though…cause I’m a guy…
If they could summon FIRE, I don’t care if they’re high heels. Anyone who laughs at them? “I can summon FIRE!”
Hercelia’s relationship to Lina Inverse is definitely showing.
i was thinking the same thing.
Hercelia; save now, burn later.
“Where has all the treasure gone, long time passing?
Where has all the treasure gone, long time ago?
Where has all the treasure gone? Gone to ashes every one.
When will they ever learn? Pillage BEFORE you burn.”
And here we were, or I was, expecting Emma to REALLY push them apart to avoid more fighting.
Everytime we expect something, you girls either meet our expectation OR surprise us with something different. That’s good, too . . .
KILL IT WITH FIRE!
Hercilia’s her answer for everything. :/
Agreed.
Considering that she supposedly had no way to burn the poppy field on the yellow brick road, I really don’t get how this has become her new favourite threat. :\
Dang just how long has Anlise been under the influence of the vines and flowers if she thinks the LAST Dorothy has only JUST died? *lol*
