And Nose flips One’s chessboard. Oops.
It has to be done: http://27.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m13luvDrvp1qbw0gqo1_500.gif
Should the page title have “forget” instead of “forgot”?
Yes, whenever you use the auxiliary verb did you write/say the actual verb in present.
So you could say I forgot to say something but when you make a question with did it becomes forget again. The past tense comes from did.
Ooh I like where this is going.
And this one just made me squee:)
Okay, Mr. Crewe, here’s your chance for redemption. Don’t let it slip by…
Oops. And Nose is pretty shrewd, I gotta say. I wonder just what he’s up to?
Mmmm. so I’d say that One does not know about the bottled Calliope in his house. Quite a time bomb Nose arranged. And he’s playing Daniel like a fiddle; it seems like for a good purpose, so I’ll withhold judgment for now.
Good to see Nose is still an asshole. Okay, bud, you’re gonna break everyone out. What did you need from Bird??? and since he’s trying to make sure One doesn’t see Dan’s freak out I bet my weight in gold that One has no idea that Calliope’s in his hideout. Nose I swear to god if this plan works I won’t like you, but I will definitely suspend judgment for like five minutes.
I think Nose learned the art of petty passive aggression from One.
ha, I was coming over to say he has learned something from One. And that I like him very much on this page, finally in charge.
One is the worst pseudo-dad ever.
I don’t think he was trying too hard to be a good one, haha!
I’m pretty sure the ambush on the rooftop was ordered by One, & the djinn himself acknowledged that Fish’s master controls the bottle. It seems improbable that One doesn’t know the bottle is in Bramble Manor. But One underestimating Nose’s feelings for Emma–and Nose’s influence over Daniel & Bird–is plausible. This leaves Nose in a position to plot against One when the later [and hopefully Ina] are preoccupied with Emma.
On this page^ he only says to “take care of them”, so he may not know that they were bottled and brought in. The attack seemed to be orchestrated by Nose, Fish and Bird — the people actually involved in it– and maybe not One’s style.
Or he may know about the bottle but not that Alice herself is in it, which makes escape possible. He definitely doesn’t know that Fish is there– she could be a catalyst (upsetting Calliope & the djinn, making them more determined).
He underestimates Nose, I’m sure….
I’d forgotten Ina, here comes our next plot twist
Ok, Daniel’s reactions are absolutely hilarious here. I especially love his expression in Panel 5. Ah Nose, ever the soul of tact.
add some alt text? we like those! =D
It was there, just pasted into the wrong field. It’s showing now.
Now, this is a dad’s proper reaction….
Interesting that even Daniel views Calliope as evil or at least dangerous.
Well, they *are* dangerous. Question is whether they are loose cannons in the sense that they might hurt innocents, or what.
He sees Elaine being with Calliope as dangerous–that doesn’t mean the danger is coming from them. It could be because of what he fears One may do, or it may just be “Trapped in a bottle =/= safe.” Or it could just be that she’s involved in the situation, and that is inherently unsafe.
It does seem like he probably thinks of Calliope as dangerous, but there are other ways he could mean it.
Shouldn’t this be page 17_21? If not, then are we missing one?…
You’re not missing a page. Don’t go off those names, sometimes they get thrown off because of extras, etc.
What really, really needs to be explained is why anyone would join the Rippers in the first place. Why the heck did Vanessa sell her name? What did she obtain for it? At this point it is just befuddling. Sure, there are some genuinely nasty ones that seem to enjoy hurting others, but what do they expect is One’s master plan?
The rippers were offered something (being a namesake is not often a happy existence, I’d wager), something they wanted in exchange for their name. They were most likely suffering, in pain and desperate so they leaped at what One offered them. Without their name, they’ve lost a bit of their sense of self and are probably a bit more easily persuaded because of that. Or so I would guess.
We’ve seen that they get what Alice referred to as “illegal substances”, namely drinkable magic, like the potions in Wonderland. We see Nose drink it, Uncle Henry drink it, and large decanter that brought Calliope to the rooftop where they were captured by Nose. It’s the water of creation that flows around them. <:) How's that for a metaphor.
oh man. how he comes to say that….i’m loving him^^ nearly leave Daniel a choice. It’s like “you can save them both, and you have to, so do it!”. Oh yeah, Daniel will certainly do it. He loves Emma, even if One still saying she’s not his daughter.
Snap! Nose has gained buku points!
Leverage. Nose seems to understand something about it.
Nose’s nose looks downright small in the last two panels.
I was really on the fence with Nose for a while–wasn’t sure if I liked him or not. Can happily say, I think I do like him. The more I see of him, the more I like him.
So, up to this point, the only people who knew Elaine’s a writer were Nose, Bird, and the bottled. I predict it’s going to become important, very fast.
Hopefully cue transition back to the bottle?
“Her what?!” (facepalm)
though, it does look like Nose is messing with him on purpose.
Nose is winking at us!=^-^=
I’am I really the only one who caught this, just me, ok.
