Cars in Oz? That’s something you don’t see everyday. Though Renge is blindly following Ozma’s orders, her intentions are good. Poor Glinda when we get her back she should be able help Ozma get things back on track. Hope Scarecrow can come back.
She’s lying. It’s completely obvious from the page published on the 24th of April (“A beautiful city in flames”) that she knows where Ozma is hiding/trapped within the poppies.
Those little VCR critters were my favorite too. Although BetaMax wouldn’t have worked. Warrick is only 27 and Ozma disappeared when he was a kid. Assuming this story is happening in real time, the tape would be well placed as an item in the late 80′s/early 90s’.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but hasn’t it already been established that time moves differently in Oz than it does in our world? Or am I just remember something from an Oz book or some other fictional universe?
In the Oz books time moves the same here and there, largely because Oz is apart of our world in the books, a real place you could get too by balloon or some such.
But when I asked a question about the number of Dorothy’s at the shrine, I think Meg responded saying time flowed differently in Oz.
That is correct. For example, Emma has been in Oz a couple of weeks now, including the time she was in a coma. For Elaine, it’s only been about 24 hours since Emma disappeared.
In the later Oz books, one of the ones by Ruth Plumly Thompson, Dorothy is accidentally dumped in Hollywood and is rapidly aged to her late 20s, to make up for the years that had gone by in the real world. She’s restored to being a little girl when she returns to Oz. The book is “The Lost King of Oz.”
It seems objects from the ‘real’ world are encroaching into Oz. Looks like a tear or a hole in reality… or something. Maybe it just means I watch too much sci-fi.
o-o It does seem that ‘hole in reality’ and objects from another reality would be connected….maybe because all the Dorothys went to Oz, but never came back, it weakened the barrier between the worlds with a strong our world to Oz direction?
Hmm, I’m gonna hazard a guess that whatever is causing the trouble with the poppies 1. Also brought Emma into Oz and 2. Might not be limited to just Oz but may be causing trouble in other bookworlds as well (especially since at this point we, along with the Oz characters, have no idea what’s causing it which suggests that the answer lies outside of Oz).
Question, Are these little black shadow things the same/similar/cousins of those little black shadow things in Calliope? That would exlain our worlds technology entering Oz.
Another question, you know how Wendy’s a namesake? would her brothers (George and Michael) also be namesakes? and for that matter Peter? Just curious
Yeah, Renge. I get that you were trying to protect the world and keep it in balance. I understand that. Doesn’t mean you had the right to steal the free will of the realm, no matter how powerful you are with your crazy artifact. Though it does explain how you can use the vines the way you do-assuming the Belt’s powers are different, but are still quite powerful-you were still manipulating your people. That’s still wrong.
You know… The, let’s call them “Hole Beasts”, look a lot like those shadowy things We saw in Calliope Mansion back in the most recent Alice flashback… Hmmm…
Videocassette! Car!? Strange objects for Oz! The surprises continue.
Also, I love the layout radiating from Renge’s injured arm.
I didn’t see that, properly or at all, until you mentioned it.

I had a good laugh at the look on Renge’s face while she’s contemplating the car!
Mmmmmay I ask how come the Scarecrow got trapped in the vines, what with Renge being the one controlling them etc…??

Or at that point of time she really didn’t know where Ozma was, and found out after. Flashback mode is still engaged.
Not for that panel. She’s responding to Warrick, in present tense.
“I have no idea where she went” could still be true even if Ozma has since returned. Misleading, yes, but not necessarily a lie.
Oh shoot, I misread the have as a had.
I like the little creatures climbing on the VHS tape (though to be even more strange, it should have been a BetaMax)

oh…whoa! O.O
This is starting to remind me of the Neverending Story.
This comic is amazing :O also, i wish i had a warrick, he’s my fav chara and plus he’s strangely…..attractive O_O

Wendy’s backstory is explored in-comic, so I won’t answer this now. But I can garantee your questions will be answered. Eventually.
Say in a couple of years?
Nawwww, soon. Sooner then you expect
Sweet nipples of Neptune I cant wait! X3 Keep up the good work, I just adore Namesake!
