Dig Ozma out? I thought she was in the poppies, not buried in the dirt. Dig out of the poppies is a possibility, but it would be more interesting if they had actually buried her. Very symbolic.
Poor Warrick, he so badly wants Ozma free, but is trying to do the right thing too. Selva is not looking happy in that second panel, doesn’t want her patient overworked I bet.
I’m guessing that, like Elric’s sword, Stormbringer, its power varies depending on the dimension and the foe being fought (Though hopefully it doesn’t devour souls to fuel it’s powers…)
What’s wrong with eating a couple souls every now and then? Gah…people always gotta be all up in your grill. And don’t start with that tired old “souls are people too!” biz. I don’t buy none of that.

Ah, but namesake covers quite a few qualities, most of which neither Emma or Warrick know about. That whole going into stories and coming back. Multiple generations with the same name… (Even the Dorothies are just ‘the Dorothy’).
She may have been captured by the Nome King (or maybe his successor?) They’re always after the emeralds the Emerald city has.

Warrick and Emma is ADORABLE. But what does he mean by ‘people like you” and why does he need Emma’s help in digging Ozma out? And… “shut the power off”? How did Emma do THAT?
Why do I get the feeling that Emma isn’t the first one to have that sword? What with Warrick’s question.
Also, I love Warrick’s face in panel 4. So adorable and awkward.
Ah, that explains it. I wonder what’s so special about those poppy vines in the castle that they cannot hack Ozma with ordinary methods.

Warrick’s been searching all over Oz for Ozma for so long. He gave up his heart for her. He finally knows where she is. He’s SO CLOSE. But he tells Emma they can wait until she feels well.
