Wonderful. This has gone from a little idea to a wonderful story that’s dancing off the pages for me. You guys rock and I’m so proud of you for getting here!
So… Karen got stabbed, then her shoes were taken and now she had been set aflame. This just isn’t her day.
(Pointless comment because I’m at a loss of words otherwise. O_o)
Wow. I really really like this comic. There aren’t that many webcomics i love. Sluggy freelance and Girl genius are the only others I love like this one. I want to give Vanessa a hug as well. She’s messed up, and i do think she lovs Jack. Gods, the BOOKS! And in panel 6, (with upper left being 1) are Karen’s arms wood? They look it. Which goes with Vanessa’s whole puppet remark. Politics, sometimes you need a scoreccard
I think that’s just the cuffs on her shirt. Vanessa’a are similar.
And Calliope hmm? We’ve got fairytales, are we bringing clasical mythology into this? I have to say I would find the muse of storytelling and epic poetry rather appropriate here. Or at least someone with her name.
And the art in this comis is wonderful. I especially love your chapter covers. They are absolutely beautiful.
Kayna is right – those are just the cuffs on her shirt. Only her feet were wooden.
Thank you for the complement! I adore Girl Genius as well. The links section has a few more good recommendations as well for some other series. I’ve heard good things about Sluggy. I need to give it a try some time.
Mmmmm well I hope the building has a fire suppreshion system if not bye bye books and good bye building. There are better ways to clean up after one has killed a person that well get much less attention.
Well, the killing doesn’t appear to have been well-thought-out in that sense. And for an impulse destruction, setting fire to the building is an excellent way to clean up. If you’re lucky, they’ll find “Cripple in Wheelchair with wooden legs caught in building ON FIRE” to be enough explanation of “death” and thus no autopsy, no finding of “stabby stabby”.
I just realized who our FireBird is. O_o Did you know, In the Philippines, we have a story (painfully long poem) just like it. It’s called “Ibong Adarna”. What’s hilarious about it is that after the first two princes fall asleep, the bird literally POOPS on them and turns them to stone.
I noticed you guys used WordPress and ComicPress. (I had a dabble in web design and coding before I shifted to Animation.). Will you guys put up a forum for the fans to be able to discuss the comic? That would be cool.
One more thing. @”46″ :BLASPHEMY. and a huge irony. Is she seriously thinking to burn books? She came from one!…right? 0_0
Good job!! When doing research for chapter 1, I had Igor Stravinsky’s “The Firebird” playing on iTunes and decided to do some further research behind it and stumbled across the fairy tale. I played music from “The Firebird” during my freshman year of college and always loved it.
As for a forum, we’ve bandied it about at times, but wasn’t sure on how hard it would be to moderate. Since having comments open has been a good thing thus far, it’s something we can talk about.
Considering the fire is suspicious they would find her nicked ribs and suspect a murder. Unless they really don’t care and just want to close a case. (It happens all too often, even to railroading people to prison and the death penalty.)

Awww, thanks!

She’s been better, that’s for sure.
you can tell she loves him
Threre’s a little something in her eyes! It’s hard to deny.
Jumpin’ Jack Flash is gonna have to do more than sit on THAT candlestick. “Fire is the Devil’s only friend.”
Well, at least she’s cleaning up after herself. She just needs to learn a little bit about appropriate LEVELS of response.
I also want to say 1) Dear lord, NOT THE BOOKS!!!
and 2) This update schedule is TOO SLOW!!! It should be at least twice a day!!!
1) I know! Bye bye bookies!
2) I wish I could! *laughs* Honestly, I would love to be able to update daily. Maybe one day. If I manage to become a full-time artist.
Ok. I have to say… I am absolutely in love with the art in this comic.
:’D Just sayin’.
Aw! As the artist, I say : thank you so much!
Is it bad that I kind of want to give Vanessa a hug? She seems so conflicted with everything she’s doing. D:

Don’t start Sluggy unless you have a lot of time to spare in the next few days. Similar to starting Schlock Mercenary now.
Just found this comic and it is amazing, i am waiting to see where the story goes next.
Thank you, and welcome!

When i realized the fairytale connection i didn’t find the muder that upsetting. But now she’s burning books and that’s just wrong.
The Mayans called her “Kinichi-Ahu” the flaming fire bird woman.
