Although chronologically, I’m quite a bit later than the stuff I’m archive-trawling over… let it be known that I predicted shipping wars in a comment against a far earlier comic… -_-;
Here I am, starting this page and all happy with Fred’s delight in a cheese sandwich (hey fella, let some of that cheese cook on the griddle and you’ll get crunchy lace); and then you do scary blue ghosts turning into Emma! Eeek!
Elaine wrote a whole bunch, trying to bring Emma home, correct? Could she have unintentionally created at least the second, ‘savior’ ghost? I seem to remember this one appeared before we swapped back to Elaine and Ben ((in that super creepy, ‘I need your eyes’ bit)). However, her writing might have summoned this one to her too – as Fred said, Writers and their characters have strings pulling them together. Maybe this was something she wrote when she was little and mad at Emma for something? Have we established when Writers gain their powers?
You may have something there, with respect to Elaine having a hand in this latest development — if only because it’s highly convenient that Whoever This Is should happen to materialize right there in the house. Meanwhile, the real Emma (at least we’ve been assuming it’s the real Emma) has shown up down by the library, more or less right back where she was when she left. And, evidently, where Nose may have been watching for her reappearance….
That’s all I can say about the main thing happening, but I can say “Aaww, look at Fred’s little hearts over his head showing his fondness (or whatever) with the cheese sandwich”.
There I was, cooing over how cute Fred is, and his delight at the stretchy grilled cheese sandwich, and then BAM! They get the wrong Emma, and I feel like I’ve just been smacked over the head with a sack of doorknobs.
Fred was originally meant to be a protector, even though he has turned out to be very adorable, I am sure he can take care of this. It is like when a soldier comes back from duty, initially all you see is the war and what it did to them, and gradually as they heal their real personality will start to emerge again, but if they ever feel that they or their loved ones are threatened they will immediately reveart back to their combat training. Fred can take care of this. If Elaine doesn’t immediately claim it to be Emma and try to stop him, we are good.
Oh damn, they got the ghost!
Onthe other hand, how cute is Fred? I really hope he can identify this bad version of Emma. If not we’re in trouble.
Warrick, get your green butt here right now and save them!
in the great words of Bob, the Guardian from reboot. “This is bad. Real Bad.” Followed closely by several ‘Oh, dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear!” moments from cute little orphan #1 from the musical Annie. *pours tea.* Well girls, what shenanigans and cliff hangers will you be putting us fans through this time? XD
I figured that the ghost followed the path Emma had established when she thought of her sister. It was the other masks that pulled Emma on a side route to escape the ghost.
Uh huh… well, now this explains for sure why the Emma in her normal clothes looked like she had a giant slash across her face and why she looked down-right zombie-esque and why the other Emma in the sneak peek looked like she was in an asylum.
Fred, y u so cute?
Uh-oh. They didn’t gety the right Emma…
Seriously, why is Fred so cute? Maybe Elaine wrote down, ‘and Fred shall be adorable’?
I may or may not have flailed in reaction to the last panel.
And kept muttering “no no no” at the screen
AGH D:
…that’s not cool…not cool at all. How come the ghostie gets to come through, but Warrick is still in Oz?
Well, I guess….after all, the ghost was between the worlds to begin with.
Still…Warrick needs to come and steal Emma away from Nose so that people stop shipping Emma/Nose
Agreed!!
Although chronologically, I’m quite a bit later than the stuff I’m archive-trawling over… let it be known that I predicted shipping wars in a comment against a far earlier comic… -_-;
Anyhow… shipping is a sign of mental impairment.
Oh crap.
That’s my reaction. Possibly with a somewhat stronger four-letter word.
(Like SNOW. Snow is evil. Too much of it here.)
Yes, I agree. SNOW is a very dirty four letter word.
And the scary thing is, I had a nightmare yesterday about this exact thing happening D:
Oh. Um. I can’t curse strongly enough on this board!
Oh, dear, that can’t be good.
Also: I love Fred! He’s so cute!
Here I am, starting this page and all happy with Fred’s delight in a cheese sandwich (hey fella, let some of that cheese cook on the griddle and you’ll get crunchy lace); and then you do scary blue ghosts turning into Emma! Eeek!
grumble, whiplash, grumble
…maybe Fred’s cuteness will act as a barrier to fake Emmas?
Oh HELLLLLLL NO.
OMG!!!! Grilled cheese on Rye is one of my MOST FAVORITE FOODS!!!
and uhh… well that doesn’t look too good…
Aaah…aaaaah…AAAAAHHH!
Well that’s no good.
Oh damn… O_o
After my initial “Oh noooo” reaction, a thought:

OH SHIT. (beautiful picture btw)
RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
And now she’s free to eat the souls of everyone in this world.
E.E.P
Keep in mind everyone. The smaller spirit said by taking the sword she had a chance to change her fate. Emma can still turn this around.
Also betting Fred goes ape shit in the next comic.
And thus, our world became another story-world.
Say bye to your days of boring normality, and hello to your own nightmares!
Oh NO . . .

…OH HELL.
Oh, that’s not good.
If the Doctor was in this comic he would probably also say “Run.”
Toronto, we have a problem.
Daaaw… That’s so cute. I can’t believe how- no. oh no. nononononono. Crap.
I love how Ben is totally trying to keep Fred and Elaine separated. Oh, Ben…you ARE overreacting. He’s a card…and easily distracted by grilled cheese.
I didn’t really understand that “overreacting?” bit before, but thanks for making it seem clearer now!

evil twin is here!
Oh damn, they got the ghost!
