I suspect that kissing, for Warrick, would involve extensive magical preparation, given that water burns him like acid. Unless it’s only pure water that matters, and not saliva which is 95+% water.
Well he said that he can’t even drink anything (presumably, his body gets it’s moisture from fruits and other high-liquid-content foods, or he would have died 3 days after gaining his water alergy)
Sounds like they’d need to get a kissing rock.

I don’t think the sword is capable of a “final shot”, regrettably. I believe the plan was to use the poppies to seal the creature away somehow.
Couple names for Warrick and Emma- Warma and Emick!!

Good to know that trapping the monster is a higher priority than trapping people for the vines.
Have I mentioned lately ho much I love that Emma is in the potion typical of the (male) heroic savior (armed and standing down the monster) while Warrick is in the position of the damsel in distress/mage back-up in scenes like this?
Panel five almost looks like it’s sniffing along Emma’s trail. It’s starting to look lion-like to me now.
I thought the poppies tangled up anyone who went into the field. I’m guessing that they aren’t attacking Emma and Warrick because the magic sword protects them? Or the goop monster is more delicious?
Well, when Emma was attacked the first time – She had the Scarecrow with her…
And the Scarecrow had goop monster in him, so the difference is the sword. Thanks!
But – that’s it! The vines are after this thing, they’re trying to protect Oz – the scarecrow was trapped in them because of the thing. And the people who freed “it” by freeing him, they became targeted. The poppies were always part of Ozma, they now are doing what she would do, protecting Oz.
I know, doesn’t really explain the Renge/Anlise thing with the poppies. Like ll my theories, incomplete at best.
The head, going along the ground, is both cool and almost nightmare-fuely. COOL!
