Well the presence of the little floaty blue bubbles could presage another portal incident…who knows where she could wind up…or when…or in what state of debauchery?!!
From what i’ve noticed, magic tends to act a bit, well, necroticly on earth. In other words it tends to destroy/deteriorate its user and subject. So right now i’m guessing either that nose wiped her memory judging from the note he left, her reactions so far.
…wow. A magic hangover so far seems alot like a real one.
She can’t remember anything, her head hurts, she’s dizzy…and as noted by others, I’m sure she’s really wondering what she went and got herself into with the note that the Nose left.
Sorry, but I’m with dragonimp. That sweater is extremely suspicious, not just because it’s blue, but also because it’s not hers. She arrived in a torn dress, remember?
The rippers have considerable access to story book magic items. And what’s the point of that if they don’t use them from time to time? For all we know, this could be a sweater of forgetfulness or some such thing.
Most stuff in most pages are black, white and shades of gray. The Meg and Isa use color very sparingly and, often, the color indicates something significant – such as glowing blue eyes or blue energy bubbles, green skin, etc.
Well, I was surprised to see the blue, but that might also mean a second world. Perhaps red and green are just Oz’s colours. The previous few pages showed Nose buying Emma new clothes and the first panel shows her changing into the sweater. Odds are good that the clothes are not so much of a plot device as a visual cue.
They’re probably both playing a part, but the headache/nosebleed/blue bubbles didn’t start until after she put on the sweater. With that plus the spot color….
may be. But at least in her dream she remembered the scarecrow and the masks; but as you said, the ghost may habe ate part of her mind, or her soul… scaaary
As expected, her memory goes back to before even getting to the library. And I was waiting for her to wonder where her purse was
Technically it’s odd that it would be one of her main concerns at the moment (unless she *always* has it), but obviously it was only done for the humour of it for our sakes and to highlight that she doesn’t remember where any of that stuff went/came from.
As far as the source of her amnesia, I still maintain that it’s the mask ‘Nose’ placed on her (as opposed to the protection spell that always makes her forget). I also don’t think that the coloured blue sweater has any particular significance, apart from a visual cue (the cover page) and maybe if it’s her favourite colour or something… that Nose remembered from when they were younger.
It’s standard quasi-swear keyboard mashing, hon. A WTF, then some HNG noises, then a “damn it”. Unless you meant it as an actual acronym, but either way it’s read as frustrated yell.
At least the scene can only change to the Calliope situation or Oz.
…Agh, just watch as the belovedreaded Isameg comes up with something completely new JUST TO CONFUSE US
I hope this is just temporary. Otherwise, the authors might regret it. Reintegrating a character following a memory loss is always tedious for the authors as well as the readers. It creates a lot of potential situational irony (no, don’t trust her, she’s EVIL–no, HE’s not really wicked–no, don’t let them touch those flowers!), but ultimately, it smacks of artifice.
She was already forgetting things from that weird brain-space, but now she doesn’t even remember Oz? D: Ack! Now I’m seriously worried. Emma, you promised to go back and finish fixing things! Remember the Chopper twins, they miss you already!
I haven’t seen an announcement or anything around, but Namesake is in the Comicmix Webcomics tournament thingy (It’s near the bottom of the fourth bracket, so kinda hidden). Congrats to IsaMeg!
Is no one else concerned that a motel worker will come in to clean this, see a dress that has been torn to shreds ( with possible blood stains on it) and call the police?
Woops, trouble’s coming… or maybe the Oz people are coming? Or Calliope appearing might be a good idea- or even better, Elaine. Emma really needs someone familiar to tell her that she disappeared and a secret agency gave her sister a card as a bodyguard.
I’M AT THE END

anyway this comic is freaking amazing.
FREAKING
AMAZING
thank yooooouuuuuuuuuu ^D^
Oh dear. I do not like the looks of this. Wait’ll she goes home to find the gaping hole in the wall.
That should be interesting.
OK, the last thing she needs right now is an aneurysm.
Well the presence of the little floaty blue bubbles could presage another portal incident…who knows where she could wind up…or when…or in what state of debauchery?!!
No, Emma! Take off the suspicious blue sweater!
I doubt the sweater itself is evil.
I forget, when was it that her nose bled before? It means something, I know it must.
It happened when she first showed up in Oz. She may have just inadvertently zipped off to world #2 (3?)
It also bled when she was a little kid in “The Red Door”
From what i’ve noticed, magic tends to act a bit, well, necroticly on earth. In other words it tends to destroy/deteriorate its user and subject. So right now i’m guessing either that nose wiped her memory judging from the note he left, her reactions so far.
I doubt it’s the sweater, but the mental mask! This is starting to get worrisome.
She doesn’t remember namesaking at all.
And the blue dots are– or should be based on my intuition– a magic hangover.
…wow. A magic hangover so far seems alot like a real one.

Hooboy…Emma, take two aspirin and get to moving!

I’m pretty sure that light blue means potal or ghost. I don’t think that the spicfic colors mean a certan world.
They’re probably both playing a part, but the headache/nosebleed/blue bubbles didn’t start until after she put on the sweater. With that plus the spot color….
Actually, they didn’t appear until she was thinking too hard about the thing whoever’s responsible doesn’t want her too remember.
Slam?
the door
Something is hurting her really bad from the inside
and bet is not only that mask thing. Maybe it has something to do with the ghost
I think that the ghost ate her memorys when it stuck it’s hand in Emma’s head. I mean, that’s what magical parasites do. They eat you.
may be. But at least in her dream she remembered the scarecrow and the masks; but as you said, the ghost may habe ate part of her mind, or her soul… scaaary

NAMESAKE is competing in the mix march madness webcomics tournament! If we all help out, im sure it can win it!
A Facebook account is required to vote, so sorry, but I’m not going there.
She doesn’t remember? SHSABHSFJSDSDBKSJDVFS- sorry, I had to get that out of my system.
I gotta agree with wolfgirl…. ASDFGHJKL.
K, so, how long til she remembers then?

And I was wrong before;
waiting until Tuesday just might be painful after all.
Yep. The color has to be significant, but I doubt it’s a magical memory-erasing sweater. (Esp since she forgot before she put it on)
WTFHSGNGNGDDMNT!!!!!!!!
Don’t try to read that ^
So WTH happened to her! Tuesday cen’t come fast enough
Why try when one can do?
Tuesday’s update = scene change XP
Err…. You read tht?

Well, unless Moofin is correct… I read it as what the effing* h*ll is going on, dammit?!?!!!

Oh no. No no no. Warrick’s gonna find her and she won’t know who he is? I don’t know. Get your memory back, Emma!
Come on! Vote on the March Madness thing, we’re behind by just two points!
Is no one else concerned that a motel worker will come in to clean this, see a dress that has been torn to shreds ( with possible blood stains on it) and call the police?
Everything’s fine, that’s just the setting for the new CSI spin-off…
Because I’m “detail-oriented”, I’ll point out that the blood is on her left hand and she touched the dress with her right hand.
I just realized, Nose stole the sword!
When Emma said “Don’t touch that, that’s mine” she wasn’t just dreaming.

Because it’s a trap and it will kill you.
