Aw, poor Renge, she was trying to do the right thing, but couldn’t figure out the right way to do it. At least Anlise seems to be on her way to forgiving her.
Still, Renge needs *ONE HELL OF AN EXPLANATION* for the Brain-Controlling Poppies. I’m not sure that my WIFE could explain that away to me well enough, and I’ve been married to her for over 16 years and in love with her even longer.
Nope, sorry. Not gonna buy it. Anyone who honestly thinks mind-controlling poppies are for “protection” is deluding themselves and a terrible person on principle. There are always other ways other than removing another’s agency. You are wrong, Renge. You are deluded and messed up, and we’re not gonna forgive that. No one should.
Absolutely agreed. Renge gives me the creeps. I don’t get how Anlise just keeps forgiving her even though something is SERIOUSLY wrong!! :/ Friendships like that are just plain abusive. Sometimes you have to separate your feelings of “caring” and sympathy and move on.
Not that I agree with Renge’s tactics, but you can’t assume that the mind control was what she did to protect Anlise. The poppies could have some other effect, maybe mind control isn’t even their primary purpose. I also find it REALLY hard to believe that Renge is powerful enough to cover most of Oz in these poppies by herself. After all, NONE of the other witches or warlocks have been able to do squat against the poppies. I think the poppies are something that were already around, and Renge was just harnessing their power (or maybe even being used by their original creator?).
Ozma is supposed to be fairly wise (even after being grief-stricken), so why would she have trusted Renge if she were completely bad?
Consider that Ozma, as a leader, would likely feel the need to do what was necessary against a threat. However, that does not excuse the fact that either of them are complict or justifed in stealing the thoughts and minds of their own people to secure them, for any cost. The Poppies and their mind-control was even a liability, stealing the thoughts of fear and panic one would expect and get out of dodge. That would make evacuations easier to deal with the threat.
She deliberately used the mind-control effect OF the poppies on Anlise. If her purpose were so protective, why couldn’t she **EXPLAIN** what she was doing? No, this is gonna need the absolute GRANDMOTHER of all explanations to make it work.
Hmmm I just know somehow she isn’t, but right now she stands as an antagonist to me.
I wonder if he has a “Kaorin thing” for Anlise; if you don’t know what I mean, all the better.
No one else seems like they’re going to mention this, but it’s bothering me too much… “Creek” should be “Creak” unless there’s a creek creeking behind that door.
Just looked at the top bar… has anyone else noticed that it looks like Emma’s little sister has impaled Emma with her quill pen and Emma’s bleeding blue… something?
Anyone Else notice Range’s *TINY* little point of a smile or grin as she says being sorry “about so many things, but I won’t apologize for trying to protect”?
Yeah, to me? That means she’s implicit in her guilt and has no qualms about stealing a person’s mind away from them. Her reasoning starts falling apart already.
Smoochies! Talk out your feels! — Hey, Warrick and Emma aren’t yet, so the other Oz ship can get cheered too.

ah, Anlise and Renge are so sweet.
Awww.

Oh yes. There is one hell of a reconciliation and explanation needed.
How can it be that the poppies were protection? I mean, what did they protect Anlise from, what were those poppies really doing?
That´s a very good question!
Thank you
What just made that ‘Clink’ sound?
I’d guess Renge’s restraints.

I hate to say it, but I’m with Herculia.

Perhaps Ozma was too grief-stricken with the last Dorothy to pay too much attention to what what was happening around her? Just a thought.

Poor Renge! I feel bad for her, she was only trying to help

I’m pretty sure that Renge and Anlise are a couple…so no one-way crush.
Meg and Isa have made it pretty clear that Anlise and Renge are/were romantically involved.
So there is, I can finally discard that and look upon other intentions she might have had.
No one else seems like they’re going to mention this, but it’s bothering me too much… “Creek” should be “Creak” unless there’s a creek creeking behind that door.
Ditto. Or it has to be “creeeeeeeeeeak” if you want it to sound like an extended opening sound.
Just looked at the top bar… has anyone else noticed that it looks like Emma’s little sister has impaled Emma with her quill pen and Emma’s bleeding blue… something?
I think it’s part of the blue scroll of ink that you can see twisting through the air from the pen. It is supposed to be in front of Emma.
Perhaps Mef or Isa can confirm.
Meg, not Mef (I got made fun of for a typo a couple of strips back)!
I had noticed before, but I always assumed she was “writting/drawing” her sister. I’ve always loved that picture.
