I’d be very curious to know how much time has passed between the page where Edith’s head appeared and now. It must have traumatized poor Alice to the point that she does not want to visit Wonderland anymore. Has it been a long time since Alice was in Wonderland?
It’s August 1876, a couple of weeks after Edith’s death. It’s why Alice is wearing black – she’s in mourning in for her sister. During this time, mourning for a sibling was for six months.
Alice’s first trip to Wonderland was over a three-day period in 1863. Her second trip, what becomes Through the Looking Glass, happens in 1870.
Just received the printed book today and I must say it is spectacular! I had no idea how much impact the printed pages would have, until I saw it. The large panels, especially the full page and half page spreads really transform the story into something more powerful. The colors are marvelous, especially the purple of Emma’s shirt. My favorite spreads are the first page with Dodgson and Alice Pleasance Lidell, and the full page with Adora and the twins, but everythiing is great. I had no idea that the book would be this big 8x 10 1/2 ” pages. People you want to get this. Now I want Vols 2 and 3. I can just imagine what the Closet monster will look like on a truly large page.
“Hey Charlie, hey chaaaaaaarlie, we’re going to candy mountain charlie!” Sorry, literally the first thing I thought of when I saw the second to last panel. ^^;
Now I think I understand where they’re going now. They’re going to Calliope headquarters, which explains why they packed. I wonder if they’ll run into the first Dorothy and Wendy while they’re there? :3
Sooooo… Alice brought the Cheshire Cat back with her?
In the last segment seen with Alcie Lidell, the cat jumped out of the portal with Edith’s head… they really could not just leave it there.
Though I think leaving the Cheshire Cat with Ina would have been … interesting …

I love the specifics, thank you. Looking forward to seeing what happens. I always liked Alice.
Ahhh, I gotcha. Really must go back and reread the last intermission again.
Great details, I like the way Dodgson is aging.

Great work Isa Meg!
I suppose there going someplace where they can teleport to Wonderland without anyone noticing? Clever. I guess “Charlie” is coming along for the ride.

Aw, too bad, I would’ve been interested in what the talking head had to say. XD
So… where are they going? Or is it just Charlie? And who the blethers is Charlie?
Charlie is Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (the real name of Lewis Carroll.

Why not offer kitty a ride outside? That might take the smirk off his face.
Water. Water helps, too. A pity they hadn’t invented the spray bottle, by then.
