And I did not notice that effect that Emma’s touch has on the vines. It was highly likely it was shown and/or mentioned before, but had simply slipped my memory.
Darn it. I finally caught up to the current page. I saw this a couple weeks ago in an ad on…I think Misfile or Sister Claire, can’t really remember. Anyway I told my self I had to read it and here I am. I’ve enjoyed every page of this adventure.
Eep. Is that a fountain in the eighth panel, out of which the vines appear to be growing? (If it is, and if it’s that fountain, (a) let’s hope Emma avoids drinking, and (b) that would certainly help explain their effects. (OTOH, who on Earth would have had the spectacularly bad idea to grow magic poppies out of that fountain? That seems over the top even for Ozma-in-pathological-depression….)
You’re right, and it didn’t even occur to me it might be THAT fountain, even when they showed it the first time. It could explain the problems though, so it probably is.
Just started reading this morning and blitzed through the whole thing. I hadn’t noticed the update schedule, so I was super surprised to see an update right after I had caught all the way up.
Just, ugh. This is such wonderful, creative stuff; lovely artwork and character designs… Just wow. Wow wow wow. I’M SORRY I CAN’T SAY MORE COHERENT THINGS BUT. I just really love this.
Ok, I haven’t read the books, so could someone tell me what you mean by “THAT fountain” ? and my weird it’s-too-damn-late-for-my-brain thought is: Wasn’t it implied a while ago that something might have eaten Ozma? Just wondering if Ozma might be, regenerating. It would explain the cocoon inside the vines. Like I said i haven’t read the books, but was it ever explained what KIND of fey Ozma was? I’m just wondering if she might be a kind of dryad. It would explain her childlike appearence and attitutde, etc. Sorry, not sure if I’m making sense.
People in the comments are implying that the fountain used in the comic is from the sixth book by Frank L. Baum. It would be the fountain of Oblivion, a fountain that can erase the memory of the drinker. It was used to pacify villains in the past. This was not confirmed or denied, or even stated, by ANY of the comic’s current content, and so is not canon to the story.
Entirely true; so far, all theories involving the Forbidden Fountain and the Water of Oblivion are sheerest speculation. For my part, that’s one reason I’d avoided naming it specifically — also, it had occurred to me that if such speculation were correct, mentioning the Fountain by name might constitute an inappropriate and unwelcome spoiler.
That said, if the fountain that’s the source of the poppies is not the Forbidden Fountain, that puts my original theory back in play; namely, that the Water of Oblivion might end up proving useful for restoring Ozma’s mental health.
Ahhh, quite handy being able to self heal…

Yup, it updates pretty often! So you’ll get plenty of future pages!
Hee, the incoherence is so adorable! Many, many thanks!
Renge’s not messing around, either. Somehow I don’t think Ozma would approve – at least not Ozma in her right mind.
That’s my Warrick! xD
SUSPENSE!!
Have to wonder what killing the vines will do to an entombed Ozma… and to our mind-linked wizard.
wow….i only started this a few days ago and im at the end?! AGH I HATE WHEN THIS HAPPENS!!!…anyways..EMMA BE CAREFUL! great comic by the way~!!
Thanks! Welcome to the comic!
I’m glad you enjoyed blasting thru our archives.
Maybe there’s something wrong with me, but hearing what sounds like Warrick’s pelvis shattering, followed by
“Are you Okay?”
“No.”
….so funny. Hahaha. XD
Warrick – is used to injury.

We’ll just have to wait and see….
