OK, odd comment time, but the sweat stains (panel 6) add a nice touch in a way. Brings a sense of realism and urgency to the scene. I know it it were me, I’d be sweating my ass off.
Also, cities basically never have a straight line from the central structure (especially a palace or other place of rule) to the exit/entrance. It’s a matter of defense strategy. Plus, the Emerald City right now is probably still impassable in large areas due to kudzu-poppy vines. So, add to that running for your life and trying to dodge without losing a pursuer in a city you only arrived at maybe an hour before with a “guide” who has only been there once, many years ago… you’re bound to take a few wrong turns.

Humanshape…
Go Emma!
I want to see want “plan B” is.
judging from hand movement, i’d say plan b involves swordfighting
emma takes to hero business remarkably well.
Selva ain’t satisfied to be a bystanding witness to the events – she wants to be IN on the ACTION!!
Elles ont un plan B ? J’espère en tout cas *croise les doigts*
Who’s funeral was it that Hercilia came to the Emerald City for?
It was the funeral for the last Dorothy. Back when she was an unruly teen instead of an unruly young adult.
Time for heroic and suicidal intervention from Warrick on next page?
Can I make a terrible “Wonder twins to the rescue!” joke? No? Ok.
I’m loving heroic Emma so much…
Only so long as it’s not the “form of a bucket of water” joke. Warrick doesn’t find that sort of morbid humor funny.
Wasn’t Emma supposed to just run out of the city… in a straight line or something?
Probably, but as noted, her native guide keeps getting lost, too.
