Every one of these panels endeared him more and more to me. I can root for the ‘bad’ guys, right?

Hmm. I think I want to know more about Nose’s story. He must have lived through some interesting times to be so blase about Emma’s situation.

Interdimensional travel appears to be hard on shoes. Then again, maybe it’s an Oz thing, whether or not the ones you’re leaving with are magical….

Feels like the end of an era. She got to Oz in November of 2010 and is only now back to Toronto January 2013. It’s a little sad but on the other hand…where to next? Wonderland? Neverland? Candyland? Disneyland? Or maybe a place without land in the name? Love this comic so much!

I’m probably completely wrong, but when I saw the page with Ozma a day or so ago, my first thought was Sleeping Beauty. At least it’s not in copyright! At least not all the multitude of traditional versions, I’m sure there are some retellings that are, pretty sure the fairy tale series edited by Datlow had a sleeping beauty story.

Namesake has always made me think of The Neverending Story which I would like to see show up in the comic, I don’t know if it is public domain or not however.

The Neverending story was first published in 1979, so it is not currently in the public domain. In most countries, a work is in the public domain 50 to 70 years after the death of the original writer. Works created by collectives (such as movies) follow a different type of law. But long story short, the Neverending story, as a book or a movie, still belongs to it’s creators.

Wow I didn’t realize I was older than the Neverending Story. I feel silly for suggesting it might be public domain now.

So I just had a thought. Neverending Story is a world where people get sucked in, only many people of many different names have gone to it. Perhaps that’s the world Emma was meant to go to, since it’s not tied to a specific name? *random theories*

“Are we there yet?” — traditional kids’ refrain

(Refrain means that they keep saying it, not that they refrain from saying it.)

I take back my original opinion of Nose. He’s not so bad. BUT I STILL LIKE WARRICK BETTER.

The title of this page is “where did you want to be?’, but Nose asks in the last panel “where did you want to go?”. The title question makes more sense than Nose’s text in the panel – Emma asks AM I back?, asking her “where did you want to be?” refers to where she is right now, where she has ended up, which is what she is asking about. Asking her “where did you want to go?” makes less sense, because “go” refers to either the place she has been, or a place she is planning to go to, neither of which she is asking about. I’m hoping this is clear, I’m writing through a headful of flu, and I can’t remember enough French to know if there’s a translation issue here.

Both the title question and what M. Nez asked make sense. “back” implies change in position in space which means that she was going somewhere. M. Nez is asking what location “back” refers to.

Nose is asking “Where did you want to go (when you started the journey you’ve just finished)?” Makes perfect sense.

The script is written in English. I originally had it as “be,” but decided to change it to “go” because it made more sense in the context as Gene and OldBrit put it in.
