Wow. First, they get attack by a crazy card, while not meant to be malicious is probably frightening . Secondly, being told you’ll be a hostage in your own home is terrible. Finally, finding out about the possibility that your family member might die would be the perfect ending to an otherwise disastrous day.
Note: Jack, you REALLY need to work on your people skills.
Right now, I want to give Elaine a big ol’ hug. The look on her face breaks my heart in two.
Oh my gosh. I just found this comic today (found it through a link on the Dovecote Crest comic’s site) and just read all the way through to here. sxedrcftvgybhujjl SUCH A GOOD COMIC. I really can’t wait to see where this ends up going. Keep up the awesome work, guys!
“Too many folks die before we can help them”. Yeah, that’s the reassuring line you should be uttering as you leave.
So the soldier will keep them fed? With WHAT?
Also, what about visitors? There’s all sorts of… interesting possibilities here.
Jabberwocky meat sandwiches. That’s what they’re going to eat until Emma gets back.
It tastes like chicken! (just watch out for leftover vest buttons)
He’s probably brought food in SPADES.
Aw! Such a sad tearful face!
Tears of pain to start, I’m sure, from the “OW” when the soldier grabbed her arm last page, but now…
heart-wrenching, really…
Can I find it utterly cool they have soldiers that come from the Wonderland ‘verse? I mean, really. That’s just cool! =^-^=
I’m assuming it was a gift from Alice.
“Gift”? More like “Take this with you, or I hurt you”
I’m kind of betting that is a gift in Alice-speak!
Probably. She might throw things too.
Thanks, Jack. I think everyone feels completely reassured now.
Yeah, he’s got that comfort thing down. If he were a doctor, he’d be House.

Jack really has no conforting skills.
Except maybe with ladies.
But then again, he really doesn’t know how to pick them.
Given his red hand, I’m guessing he’s the namesake for the Jack the Ripper legend?
