This page was a whole lot of — OH! And now you decide to say something!
Pretty sure Emma had already figured out the spirit was not good. She’s no fool. However, she chose protecting the people she’d come to care about and defeating the immediate big bad at the risk of this future trouble.
What do we say to death? Not TODAY.
I absolutely love this page. Even though it’s supposed to be blood, and a rather lethal quantity at that, it’s just so beautifully drawn and colored. That being said… Save her, Warrick!
To defeat an evil, you have to let loose another evil. Of course, of course BUT WE ALL KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. Unfortunately, fictional characters never listen to their audiences.
Emma, Emma, Emma…why didn’t you listen to me when I was shouting at my computer for you to not take that sword. See what you’ve done now? Now you’ve made the mess worse and poor Warrick will have to clean it up!
Yeah, I think this was pretty apparent to most readers. (I was also yelling at her to not be duped into taking the sword.) Oh well… We’ll just have to see what happens next.
I’m just going to assume that it wasn’t until the bad spirit was gone that the others could talk. You know, the bad spirit was most likely stronger than the rest, so it suppressed them into silence and only allowed them to speak when it wanted them to.
I agree that this page is pretty. It’d make a nice wallpaper, you know, despite the whole ‘Emma-is-bleeding-a-lot’ thing.
I just thought I’d post a note to say that this is a pretty damm awesome comic. I’ve just reread the archives as opposed to doing anything useful! There’s so many lovely pieces of plot and the way that things begin to fit together is fascinating.
I’m looking forward to see how this progresses!
On the subject of this page I have to agree with ElfGrove, unfortunately you can only make a decision on the available evidence – immediate death and destruction versus a probably evil unknown? I know which I’d choose. Don’t forget that “badness” is relative – is it going to be better in the long run to have the first creature running loose killing people now or the second spirit doing something unknown at a future date. Definitely a case of being between the devil and the deep blue sea, although I do think that Emma’s made the correct decision. If it proves to be the wrong one, well hindsight is 100% reliable! As many many historical figures can attest to!
I didn’t see any of you guys offering swords or superpowers.
Yeah, if the ghost’s so bad they should have said something earlier, this warning came a tiny bit too late. >_>

hear hear!
Or warnings

And the ironic twist appears! Hang in there Emma, The author ladies know what they’re doing! At least I tink. :/
If a floating mask says it, it must be true.
The road of life is paved with consequences good and bad, or so they say.
The trick is how do you deal with em.

How do you know those masks don’t represent the audience?

And of course now that the ghost no longer needs her, it no longer protects her!
I think the title of this comic should be “DUH!”. I mean, was there ANY doubt in anyone’s mind that this was a bad, bad spirit?
I agree with this proposition.
Mm-hmm, pretty much.
CRAP CRAPPITY CRAP CRAP DANG!!!
The floating indifferent masks. Best example of indifferent expression ever.
Yes, but how bad is it?
(So bad that…)
… the Evil Isameg will expound on it at length.
So bad that Michael Jackson made a whole song about it.
So bad that it watches the Star Wars Holiday Special… and ENJOYS it.

Awww, thanks a bunch! Glad you enjoyed it!
Who’s to say they’re not the evil ones?
Well, I suppose Who *could* say that, but as Who’s in a copyrighted universe I don’t think Our Heroine will get a chance to find out.
“You’ve freed a very bad spirit” No sh#t Shirley!
