Uh oh! What’s going on Ozma? I feel so sorry for Ozma, she was in love with the first Dorothy, but when she died it broke her heart forever, and she’s been trying to fill the void with the others. At this point she’s tired of getting her heart broken and with each Dorothy dying, deep down to her she’s just lost the first one all over again. :’(
I wonder if, with Jellia’s name, she’ll also get the mischief. And what is the scarf that she’s offering about? With the stars it does look rather wizardly.
And Ozma looks so tired and defeated. It’s worrisome.
Salty has it; that’s not a scarf, it’s the Magic Belt that the original Dorothy took from the Nome King. Which is to say, possibly the single most powerful artifact in canonical Oz.
Which is…interesting. Because one of the Magic Belt’s powers was granting wishes, and it was also supposed to have a variety of other powers. And in that light, you’d think that a Dorothy in possession of the Magic Belt would be a Dorothy magically protected from the whole dying-of-old-age thing. Yet evidently that wasn’t the case, which is…curious.
Perhaps one would have to actively wish for “do not let me die of old age,” to be granted that specific protection. But if there were no OUTWARD signs of aging, how could Dorothy even think of such a wish? And more to the point, how could good little Dorothy even think of such a wish that is, at its root, so selfish and… wicked?
Why would immortality be “selfish and wicked”? Usually, it’s the means through which one may attain immortality are those that are immoral and unacceptable, rather than immortality in itself.
The belt would also protect the wearer from physical harm, but Dorothy didn’t wear it constantly. She wore it on some adventures, but in Baum’s books she always had to run get it to do something when she was in the Emerald City. Also it should be noted that Ozma used to use it on occasion too and it was in her care – per Baum. I agree with Mujaki about why she might not have made the wish though, although that begs the question of why the next Dorothy didn’t.
This is my first time coming to this webcomic I haven’t read any other pages or anything until now and just from reading this page alone and without any names I recognized I knew I was looking Oz and Ozma. That skill to draw something that people will recognize deserves one hell of an applause, you have yourself another loyal reader now.
If I remember correctly, wasnt it at least implyed Ozma was inlove with Dorothy1? Not like how everyone loves Ozma but like how Renge/Jellia loves Analise
Yeah. And then she kept getting replacement Dorothies, and those died too. Ozma is strongly implied to have broken badly under the strain, in ways other people didn’t realize. That’s quite likely the cause of many of these problems.
It’ll be interesting to see how this connects with the rest of the multiverse.
*sigh* I read the whole thing today…
I did not want it to end…
My imagination burns to know more and it wiggles about swimming through the misty veils…
But… so… if Ozma was using Jellia’s name, then what happened when Warrick pledged his heart to Ozma? What if her old name doesn’t exist any more? Poor Warrick.
I wonder when this is happening… I’m thinking it has something to do with how many Dorothies have died at that point, but I’m not sure…

It’s the BELT!
…to make a scapegoat?
What I want to know is which rules? Are they ones that are stated in the books; or ones that can be inferred from them?
HOLY CRAP. She has the NOME KING’S BELT???
You know, if you know how to USE the damn thing there’s almost nothing you can’t do.
Curiouser and curiouser.
Wait, so I’m confused. Does that mean Renge is Ozma and Ozma is Renge? Or am I being stupid and missing the point entirely?
Oh, no, the point has not been made yet. Renge is still telling her story. That might be why it seems confusing.

I’m off to start at the beginning.
Aw, well, thanks! I do my best!
Enjoy the comics!
Thanks for such an awesome comic!
Also my birthday is thursday, hope turning 17 is worth it
.
Ever additional year is just an extra year of awesome, so of course it is.
Thank you! You are a very wonderful lady.
Wow, Ozma doesn’t look herself AT ALL. The happy, glowing, magestic Ozma that Warrick describes is gone.
SO SUSPENSEFUL!!!

Maybe Ozma wasn’t (hasnt been) complying with the boundaries of her story?
I love the the way all of ur pictures are drawn. They are very Studio Ghibli ish.
I think the artwork is amazing, I wonder what it would like in real life as a movie or something. So Tink what’s Neverland like? :3
If Ozma is trying to avoid the consequences of a broken heart, after seeing what Warrick & Selva’s mother went thru I can’t quite blame her.
Where Ozma puts her hand in panel 7+8 looks like the place where the thingard bit her. (if that has happened yet)
wait, nevermind.
